Ireland down three more places to 44th in FIFA rankings

The Boys in Green have fallen while Brazil’s Confederations Cup win has seen them shoot back into the top 10.

IRELAND HAVE FALLEN to 44th in the latest FIFA rankings released this morning.

Giovanni Trapattoni’s side, whose only fixture since the last release was a 2-0 defeat to Spain in New York, drop three places from 41st to 44th – below Burkina Faso and South Korea, and just ahead of Slovenia and Wales.

Elsewhere, England drop out of the top 10 and are down to 15th, Scotland have jumped a massive 24 places to 50th, Northern Ireland are up three to 111th and Wales fall to 46th.

Spain remain top of the list with Germany in second. Surprisingly, Colombia are now up to a best-ever third but Brazil have pulled themselves into ninth thanks to their Confederations Cup victory.
