AFTER RUGBY HEARTBREAK against the All Blacks and Euro agony against Spain, Ireland go toe-to-toe with another world number one this weekend when Australia’s cricketers visit these shores.

Final preparations are underway for the RSA Challenge between Ireland and Australia, and with only a “few hundred” tickets remaining, organisers expect a capacity crowd in Stormont on Saturday.

The match will be the Aussies’ only one-day international as they warm-up for their five-match summer series against England, which begins in Lord’s on 29 June.

Captained by Michael Clarke and including household names like Shane Watson and David Warner, Australia remain top of the ICC ODI rankings.

But the visitors will have to be wary of an Irish squad who have caused their share of upsets in the past and who are buoyed by their recent qualfication for the ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka.

The final tickets for Saturday’s RSA Challenge are available here through Ticketmaster.ie or over the phone on 0818 719300 (ROI) / 08448472455 (NI).
