ICC say Pakistan tour should continue

Pakistan to play out their tour, and not a mention of the West Indies in 2007 in sight.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that Pakistan’s tour of England should continue, despite the match-fixing scandal that has now enveloped it.

Captain  Salman Butt, fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal were today questioned by police at the team’s hotel in London, reports The Guardian.

ICC President Sharad Pawar said that “it is the desire of the ICC and the cricket boards of England and Pakistan that the game should continue,”

“If, unfortunately, there is a truth [in the allegations] then ruthless actions will be taken,” he said. “I am absolutely confident that both boards – English and Pakistani – will never encourage or protect anybody who has done a wrong thing.”
