I shot that! The stories behind your favourite YouTube clips: Sexton's Millennium moment

We go through quite a bit in YouTube yards around here – but what are the stories behind the clips we use? Let’s go behind the lens.

What: Jonny Sexton’s try against Northampton in the Heineken Cup final

When: 21 May, 2011

Where: Block L17, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff

Camera: Canon HF10 camcorder

Youtube user: OS02091 aka Oisín

How’d you get the footage? I’d say I’m quite a big Leinster fan. I live in London so I don’t go to as many games as I’d like but I’ve been to see them play at the RDS, Wembley, Edinburgh for the 2009 final, and Cardiff. Also I have family in Ireland with season tickets and two cousins who played for the academy.

I got over to the game by train from London, got a morning train from Paddington Station and was surprised to see that a train from London was filled largely with Leinster fans and very few Northampton.

After arriving I met up with cousins, uncles and friends outside a pub next to Cardiff Castle. We found a place for lunch and then went to the fans area (in the Arms Park) for pretty much the rest of the time up until the match.

After the match I stayed in the stadium until it was pretty much empty. I moved to the area from which my video was taken after the final whistle because that’s where the majority of Leinster fans were. I was by the tunnel as the players left the stadium, and realised as they all came over to where I was standing, that standing behind me was Felipe Contepomi. He signed my shirt before leaving.

After I left the stadium I couldn’t stay very long because despite trying months beforehand, there were no hotels in the centre of Cardiff. I was offered a lift home to London and decided to take it. My cousins however stayed behind and apparently met Ben Foden and Courtney Lawes in a club later.

I don’t usually video the games I go to – my dad got a lot of videos from the 2009 final. They weren’t great.
