Buckley should get it. Very impressive all year. Padraig Walsh didn’t play enough games at half back, his day will come.

Paudi when he is on his game, as he was v Cork in the semi and v the Cats in the first Final, is probably one of the most influential hurlers in the game in terms of ball winning and distribution. Seriously his distribution from defence is the cornerstone of all Tipp best attacking displays over the last number of years since his breakthrough. That said they are 2 performance out of seven games, he was out of his depth at fullback and James Barry had to step in and sort it out (and received no all star love). Brendan Maher is an extremely talented hurler and produced consistently decent performances all year, however his performances were never reached the exceptional level he is capable of. I think his talents are more suited to midfield anyway where he can open up and hurl on the front foot, at centre back he struggled to deal with the aerial threat and was a little soft on players coming through the centre. That said the competition here is not nearly as stiff as in the full line so they are probably both worth their spot alongside Buckley…
