KILKENNY TALISMAN Henry Shefflin is may make a return to the black and amber this weekend should he first come through a club encounter tomorrow night.
The Ballyhale Shamrocks forward made a return to action with his club last weekend in a local league clash, playing the final quarter.
As well as club action again this week, it’s hoped he’ll feature in a challenge game in Clara, Co Offaly on Sunday night.
GAA president Liam O Neill will officially open the new GAA grounds in the town, with the All-Ireland champions Kilkenny taking on the Faithful.
“I am looking forward to this event as Clara GAA Club is one of the oldest clubs in Ireland,” O’Neill said. “Having been founded only weeks after the Association itself on December 15,1884.”
Cats chief, Brian Cody, meanwhile, is happy to take his league-winning side across the border for the occasion. “I’m delighted to be asked up to the Clara club in what is our last outing before their Leinster semi-final. Playing Offaly will be a good test for us and I’m expecting a good open game of hurling.”
The game throws in at 6.30pm.
