England's Hartley cited for allegedly biting Ferris

Meanwhile, the fixture list for the 2013 Six Nations Championship has already been released.

ENGLAND’S DYLAN HARTLEY has been reprimanded for allegedly biting Ireland flanker Stephen Ferris during their Six Nations clash on Saturday.

A date for the hearing has yet to be confirmed, though the hooker could be banned for up to six months if found guilty.

Italian citing commissioner Alberto Recaldini brought the charges against Hartley after viewing footage of the alleged incident.

Referee Nigel Owens did not punish Hartley during the game, telling an angry Ferris: “If I don’t see it, I can’t do anything about it.”

Hartley has been the subject of controversy in the past. In 2007, he was banned for six months, after being found guilty of gouging an opponent’s eyes.
