A THIRD ROUND of 69 means that South Africa’s Branden Grace is on course for a phenomenal fifth win of the season, at the Dunhill Links Championship at Carnoustie.

The 24-year-old round of a 12-under 60 was the talk of the European Tour on Thursday, after he equalled the Tour record at Kingsbarns, while he added a 67 at St. Andrews on Friday.

Grace carded a three-under 68 on Saturday to leave himself four shots clear of Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen going into the final day back at St. Andrews.

Shane Lowry is the best of the Irish on seven under.

The Offaly native carded a one-under 71 at Carnoustie, with Pádraig Harrington one shot behind on six-under after a 66 on the Old Course.
