Have you been playing the Google Olympics?

Themed doodles are always fun – but the finger-games on Google these past few days have kept us rather busy…

WE LIKE A good Google doodle here in TheJournal.ie HQ. They’ve really stepped up to the mark during the London Olympics, posting doodles in various disciplines on their search engine home page every day. (We presume they found the full-time doodler they were trying to hire back in April).

This for example is their take on synchronised swimming:

And on table tennis:

But how about this for a favourite waste of time – you get to play Olympic sports… with all the power you can muster in your fingertips. Try the basketball or hurdles challenge. Our hurdles attempt was pretty woeful:

hurdles3

Whoops.

  • Great. Target shooting gets dissed again, despite being the fourth largest sport in the games. *sigh*

    • we could make a list of events that have been “dissed” if you want Mark….
no 100m for the fastest man in the world
no mens boxing for the only boxer to have won back to back medals in Olympics (please note this is one I have only been told about, I have not checked it out myself)
no womens boxing to celebrate the first time this has ever been included in the games….
I’m sure there’s more I could include (but we’re at the zoo so there’s more to be doing!)
