THERE WAS A collective inhalation in TheScore.ie HQ this morning as we re-watched Golden Tate’s huge illegal hit on Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee.

It’s no surprise that the NFL have fined the Seahawks man for what some would deem to be borderline assualt; they didn’t really have much choice.

The price for his moment of madness? At least $21,000 which is the minimum amount for a blind-side block for a first-time offender, NFL.com reports.

    • @gavin watch it again it’s a headbutt uppercut padding aint going to stop that from being a serious injury, also of your one of these”they must be sissys they wear pads” people then you should have a look at the statistics they hit harder than any rugby player, also I’m not knocking rugby I’m a massive fan I just also love American football

    • How do they hit harder it why are they able to hit harder maybe is it because if these pads because there not ten times bigger or anything than a international rugby player

    • Haha are u kidding me most front row rugby players are about 230pounds max most Nfl tacklers are 250pounds minimum, there is also the way in which u tackle in nfl it’s not like rugby in many aspects but please stop embarrassing yourself by going on about the “pads” they wear

    • Average is 246 pounds for a rugby international forward where as they are constantly getting hit with tackle scrums mauls etc they put special team out for NFl how can ya say don’t talk about the pads if someone is wearing pads that size obviously they are to protect from these so called big hits

    • I just looked at it again he more or less hit him with his helmet which wouldn’t of happened if he didn’t have the big massive pads protecting him from the big bad men that just push and shove more often than not very rarely see massive big hits

    • It was an uppercut with his helmet into the other guys helmet, it was a massively dangerous thing to do, and sit down some time and watch a nfl match and u will see plenty of big hits

James Harrison would’ve been fined $100,000 if it was him that did it.
