AFTER A COUPLE of days in the Irish camp in which Giovanni Trapattoni has plenty of injury concerns to ponder, the last thing fans wanted to see was another starter sitting out training.
Glenn Whelan watched the action at Malahide from the bench earlier, though fans will be assured that the Stoke midfielder is suffering from little more than a sore throat.
The news comes as goalkeeper Shay Given is in London to see a knee specialist, while Paul McShane trained with the squad. His call-up came while defenders Richard Dunne and Sean St Ledger continued to nurse their muscle injuries.
John O’Shea and Kevin Foley did train at Gannon Park however.
Oh no – Paul Mcshane. Now I’m depressed.
The team is dropping like flies
Aaahhhh!!!!! Apparently it is quite dangerous to exercise with a sore throat according to a First Aid I was on recently.
life threatening i am sure
Hopefully he’ll be out for 6months
What kind of comment is that? If u put more effort in supporting ur country it will give the lads the lift they need ye clown
Get a life byrne,he’s useless
Well there’s more than one type of sore throat, if it’s an infection, especially a viral one, it will come hand in hand with lack of energy and exhaustion
