A GERMAN FOOTBALL stadium was transformed into a giant living room for fans to watch the opening game of the World Cup.

Over 12,000 fans were expected at 1 FC Union Berlin’s home ground to watch Brazil’s 3-1 win over Croatia last night, organisers said.

But there was no battle for seats as spectators were encouraged to bring their own sofas — with nearly 780 registering for one of the prime viewing spots.

The whole “living room” experience was finished off with some wraparound flock wallpaper and some extra furnishings.

Now, who has the remote?

This spine-tingling, a capella rendition of the Brazilian anthem was one of last night’s highlights

Meanwhile in Manaus, they’re ‘spray-painting’ the brown bits of the pitch
