All-Ireland Club JFC semi-final second replay
Kenmare (Kerry) 1-17 Castleknock (Dublin) 1-12
KENMARE FINALLY EMERGED victorious after over 200 minutes of football between themselves and Castleknock in tonight’s second replay in the All-Ireland club JFC semi-final in Croke Park.
The two clubs had played out thrilling encounters in recent weeks in Mitchelstown and Cashel with the action tonight moving to Croke Park.
And it was Kenmare who made the brightest start with Paul O’Connor in sparkling form in the first-half as his goal helped push them into a 1-10 to 0-7 lead at half-time.
Castleknock responded strongly in the second-half with Ciaran Kilkenny notching some excellent points and Rory Corcoran bagging a goal that left it 1-13 to 1-12 entering the final quarter.
But Kenmare then steadied their challenge and were able to pull clear to set up a final meeting with Galway champions Ballinasloe.

The sides reconvened again after last week’s draw with Our Lady’s producing a strong second quarter display to lead by 0-9 to 0-7 at the interval.
McGrath’s goal gave Our Lady’s an early second-half boost and they were ahead by 1-10 to 0-11 entering the final quarter.
Ardscoil Rís mounted a strong late rally but Our Lady’s hung on to claim a two-point success at the finish. They will now go forward to face the reigning champions Dungarvan Colleges in the final of this year’s competition on Sunday February 24th.
