THE GAA HURLING All Star awards have been confirmed, with Kilkenny, Tipperary and Dublin players dominating the shortlist.
14 Kilkenny players have made the list, along with ten each for both Tipperary and Dublin.
Elsewhere, there are six Waterford players nominated, in addition to three nominations for Limerick and two for Galway.
The list contains few surprises, with stars including Lar Corbett and Henry Shefflin being among the players recognised for their achievements this year.
Meanwhile, the Player of the Month award winners were also confirmed, and they were as follows: May: Conal Keaney; June: Pádraic Maher; July: Lar Corbett; August: Michael Fennelly; September: Tommy Walsh.
It is the first time in which the awards have been announced under the new joint scheme involving the GAA and the GPA.
Speaking at the announcement, GPA CEO Dessie Farrell said:
“This is a historic occasion for the GPA and GAA with the coming together of both award schemes and I’d like to acknowledge the work of Uachtarán CLG Criostóir Ó Cuana and Ard Stiúrthóir Páraic Duffy in making that happen.”
Earlier in the month, Kilkenny reclaimed the Liam MacCarthy, beating Tipperary 2-17 to 1-16 in the All-Ireland final.
