Blackpool trialist Freddy Adu on being a Football Manager legend

The former American wonderkid is up there with greats such as Tonton Zola Moukoko and Cherno Samba.

REMEMBER FREDDY ADU?

The American teenage prodigy made his professional debut in the MLS aged just 14 and was tipped as ‘the next Pele’ and the saviour of the US national team.

Burdened by enormous pressure during the early stages of his career after becoming the Nike’s new poster boy, the Ghanaian-born striker had a trial with Manchester United before joining Benfica — where unsuccessful loan spells in France, Portugal, Greece and Turkey followed.

He returned home with Philadelphia Union three years ago but last lined out for Brazilian outfit Bahia.

Still just 24, Adu is currently training with Championship club Blackpool in the hope of securing a contract and realising his dream of playing in England.

Football Manager fans will remember him fondly as a wonderkid with phenomenal ability in the 2004 version.

Check out this interview he has done with the Tangerines:
