FLAT RACING SUPERSTAR Frankel will command a whopping £125,000 fee at stud, it was confirmed today.
The four-year-old colt, owned by Prince Khalid Abdulla and trained by Henry Cecil, was venerated as the greatest horse ever when he retired unbeaten last month.
A record crowd of 32,000 packed into Ascot to see Frankel win the Champion Stakes, the 14th and final race of an undefeated career and his ninth successive Group 1 win.
“We believe our stallion roster is the best we have been able to offer breeders – and we are very excited with both of our new arrivals,” Juddmonte Farms said today, confirming a roster which also includes sprinter Bated Breath in 2013.
“The fee for Frankel reflects his merits as being perhaps the greatest racehorse we have ever witnessed.”
