Former Tory minister Michael Portillo has a go at hurling at Semple Stadium

The former Westminster heavy-hitter togged out in Thurles with Noel McGrath.

WHEN THE GAA opened open their doors to soccer and rugby some time ago, who knows if they realised that they’d ultimately end up with Michael Portillo standing on the hallowed Semple Stadium turf in a Tipperary tracksuit.

The former Tory MP and political broadcaster was in Thurles on tonight’s episode of Great Railway Journeys, we’re told. Check how he got on with the likes of Premier star Noel McGrath.
