DUBLIN WILL NEXT month host three events which are sure to whet the appetite of football nerds like ourselves.
The lads from Con Artist have announced that hugely popular podcast Football Weekly will return to Griffith College on 4 November with host “AC Jimbo” James Richardson (of Football Italia fame) joined by top journalists from The Guardian including Gregg Bakowski, Paul MacInnes and Ireland’s own Barry Glendenning.
The Champions League meeting between Liverpool and Real Madrid will be shown on the night before a Q&A session and a spot of musical bingo with a difference.
24 hours later, another stellar line-up takes to the stage at The Sugar Club where Football Weekly regular and author Ian Macintosh will discuss a number of topics such as tactics, Soccernomics and the cult computer game Football Manager with its makers Dr Tom Markham and Mark Woodger, award-winning author Simon Kuper and Zonal Marking’s Michael Cox.
The brilliant new documentary ‘An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager’ will also be screened.
As an added bonus, those looking to attend both events will get tickets for the second at a knock-down price of €5. They are available on Eventbrite and €1 from each is donated to Movember.
Then on 18 November, An Evening with The Blizzard Football Weekly takes place at The Sugar Club as RTE’S Damien O’Meara will lead the conversation with Jonathan Wilson, Philippe Auclair and Uli Hesse.
There are also plans for an event aimed at Arsenal fans for late November.
