ANTHONY FOLEY HAS today been officially installed as head coach of Ireland Wolfhounds for the January 25 meeting with England Saxons at Kingsholm.
The Munster forwards coach will be joined by Ulster backs coach Neil Doak for the one-off ‘A’ game which can give those on the fringes of the international squad a chance to stake a late claim for the Six Nations.
“The appointment of Anthony and Neil provides continuity and recognises the positive contribution they made on the North American tour earlier this year,” Joe Schmidt said today.
“The national coaching team are looking forward to working closely with Anthony and Neil in January.”
Foley, who has previously taken charge of the Wolfhounds forwards under Eric Elwood, was part of the senior international coaching ticket during this year’s Six Nations after Gert Smal was forced out of action with an eye injury.
