IF YOU’RE LOOKING for advice for a Good Friday flutter, then you’ve come to the right place.

Here are our five selections which will (hopefully) have us rolling in half-price Easter eggs by Monday afternoon.

1. The pubs aren’t open (we’ve mentioned that already, haven’t we?) so there’s really not an awful lot else to do except head out to your local League of Ireland ground for some Good Friday football.

There’s a full programme of league games on this weekend which should make it slightly easier for us to pick a winner – in theory anyway.

Bray welcome Galway to the Carlisle Grounds while Dundalk make the short trip across town to face Drogheda. We couldn’t choose between the two so we’ve gone for the double at 2/1.

2. Earlier this week, Carmelo Anthony treated Madison Square Garden to an absolute show as he bagged 42 points in Game 2 of the New York Knicks’ playoff against the Boston Celtics.

Unfortunately, the rest of his teammates didn’t even bother to show up, allowing the Celtics to steal a 96-93 victory. It could be difficult for New York to bounce back, so we’ll take that 11/10 that’s on offer for another Celtics victory later on tonight.

3. If it’s raining tomorrow (what are the chances?), we’re planning on spending quite a bit of time in front of the box watching the snooker.

Ronnie O’Sullivan versus Shaun Murphy looks to be the pick of the weekend’s games and, although “the Rocket” was in good form earlier this week, we expect this one to be tight. Add Shaun Murphy (+2.5) at 4/5 to the betting slip.

4. If all goes according to plan, we’ll be heading for GAA Headquarters on Sunday afternoon for the finals of the National Football League.

There has been no shortage of goals on the last couple of occasions that Dublin and Cork met, but surely that has to change at some stage? Despite the fact that it could be an accumulator-buster, we’re backing no goalscorer at 5/1.

5. Finally, to cap a nice relaxing weekend of sporting action, we’ve got the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday.

We haven’t devoted too much time to studying the form yet (plenty of time for that over the next few days), but there’s been a bit of a whisper going around the office which suggests that Organisedconfusion could be a decent each-way prospect.

Our colleagues are wonderful and we trust them completely, so we’ll back him for a place at 4/1.
