Fighting chance: Irish management duo on Liverpool's radar

Former Bray coach in contact with the Reds.

SOME PEOPLE SAY that Sven Goran Eriksson is an outsider for the vacant Liverpool manager’s job.

But they obviously haven’t scrolled down, well down, the list of names to find the Irishmen who feel they are in with a shout of getting the job.

Gavin and Stefan Teehan are a management duo in the mould of Roy Evans and Gerard Houllier.

They feel that makes them a perfect fit for the job at Anfield.

Today, TheScore.ie has learned that Liverpool FC have been in contact with the pair and the Teehans have confirmed their interest in the role.

“Unfortunately, Big Sam beat us to the West Ham job last season,” said Stefan Teehan, before warning Liverpool that they had better move quickly to secure the fraternal duo’s service. “We applied for the Villa job today.”

Stefan admits that his brother can boast the more impressive CV, but his own is not to be sniffed at either. As a team they have an almost telepathic ability to mould and grind players to achieve the pinnacle of their potential. Like a form of good cop, bad cop for the modern day millionaire footballer.

As with any job, the Teehan’s ensure to adapt the skill set on their CV depending on the job up for grabs. As you can see (here and here), their skills are more adapted to the modern world of sport than many of their counterparts. The tailor made IT course is designed to get players maximum exposure on Twitter without actually exposing themselves.

Teehan says his newest skll, which could prove most important is: “Convincing the centre forward that the only record to break is his scoring record, not his Call of Duty record”

Unfortunately the Reds’ response has been mixed. Replicated below is the response from the club:

Right now we are not accepting applications for the post, but are of course noting and acknowledging any registered interest.  I am sure you will appreciate that a large number of people have expressed a desire to be considered for the role.

In the meantime, many thanks for contacting the Club and for your interest, which has been registered.

Best wishes for the future.

Lise Jenkins

Evidently John Henry and Fenway sports have a sort-list drawn up. Teehan also feels that rumours of his previous expletive-filled outbursts about the club may have counted against him.

“I’m a United fan, you see. So I think they might have thought I was going to be a bit of a Trojan horse”
