MIKE PEREZ HAS challenged Tyson Fury to sign the contracts for a November showdown, claiming that a dust-up with the British heavyweight champion would be “easy money.”
Perez, who defected to Cork from Cuba four years ago, watched Fury score a fifth-round knockout against American fighter Nicolai Firtha in Belfast last weekend but says that he sees no reason for concern.
After preserving his unbeaten record with a 16th straight win, Fury — first cousin to Limerick middleweight Andy Lee –Â told reporters that he hopes to fight again in November.
However, the 23-year-old said that he was having difficulty finding an opponent with the Irish trio of Coleman Barrett, Martin Rogan and Kevin McBride all unwilling to take him on.
Initial discussions between the Perez and Fury camps broke up without agreement a few weeks ago, but the man who dubs himself “The Rebel” insists that he’s still raring to go.
“Why would I not want that fight? It’s easy money and a chance to make a lot of people happy by knocking him out and shutting his big mouth,” Perez said.
He says he’s fighting again on November 12th so come on, put your money where your big mouth is and make a real offer this time.
