Fermanagh earn comfortable win over London

Peter Canavan’s side beat London 2-15 to 0-09 in today’s Allianz Football League Division Four encounter.

FERMANAGH DEFEATED LONDON 2-15 to 0-09 earlier this afternoon, in a game that had been re-arranged after the initial fixture between the two sides was called off due to snow.

The visitors established a sizable early advantage, going 0-05 up, with Paul Ward and Sean Quigley among the scorers.

London then fought back, leaving the score at 0-07 to 0-04, before Seamus Quigley put Fermanagh further in front with a goal from a penalty, following a foul on Ward.

Further points by Quigley and Eoin O’Neill left the half time score at 1-09 to 0-05.

And the second half continued in much the same vein.

Fermanagh extended their advantage shortly after the break, with points from Ward, Quigley and Shane Lyons, before a London fightback briefly seemed possible.

However, any such hope of a dramatic London comeback gradually petered out, as late points from Quigley and Barry Mulrone, in addition to a second Fermanagh goal courtesy of Ryan Keenan, helped Peter Canavan’s team secure a convincing win.
