Etihad Airways to screen the All-Ireland hurling final live on flights this Sunday

Thousands of passengers all over the world will be able to watch the decider between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

THOUSANDS OF PASSENGERS flying with Etihad Airways on Sunday will be able to watch live coverage of the GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship Final between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

RTÉ will provide the coverage, which will be broadcast live on Etihad’s in-flight entertainment systems, allowing commercial passengers all over the world watch the sport on a flight for the first time ever.

“I am sure our guests who can’t watch the match on the ground will enjoy the excitement and passion that will be on display live from Croke Park,” said Beatrice Cosgrove, Etihad Airways’ general manager for Ireland.

“The GAA has made concerted efforts to establish a proactive strategy this year to make our games available to overseas audiences – games we believe rank alongside the best,” said GAA President Liam O’Neill.

“Hurling in particular is a breath taking spectacle and Etihad Airways has helped us to promote it through our partnership as valued sponsors of the GAA Hurling Championship.”

“I was delighted to learn of this initiative which will afford people travelling around the world the opportunity to see the showcase event that is the All-Ireland hurling final.”
