Last night wasn't the first time Erik Lamela scored with a ridiculous rabona

Spurs’ record signing did something similar while playing for River Plate a few years back.

ERIK LAMELA SINGLE-handedly justified the existence of the Europa League last night by scoring an outrageous goal for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old Argentine international, who is starting to show why Spurs paid €30m to Roma for his signature after a disappointing first season, scored their second in the 5-1 over Greek side Asteras Tripolis with a rabona from the edge of the box.

It isn’t the first he has tried, and scored with, the trick shot, however. While coming through the youth ranks at River Plate, a teenage Lamela did this:
