TOTTENHAM BOSS HARRY Redknapp has cast doubt over Scott Parker’s availability for Euro 2012.
At 31, the midfielder has recently become a regular in the England team, and is likely to play an important role as they attempt to progress from Group D, where France, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine will be their opponents.
Newly-installed manager Roy Hodgson is due to name his 23-man squad at lunch time on Wednesday but Redknapp has revealed Parker, who has missed the last three matches for Spurs, is having a problem shaking off an Achilles injury in time.
“He’s struggling at the moment,” The Mirror report him as saying.
“He’s not been fit. He’s had a problem with his achilles which he’s been carrying for a few weeks.
It’s not getting any better, so that’s a concern long term.”
Redknapp added that he could have injections in a bid to clear it up but would need at least 10 days’ to rest afterwards. England begin a pre-tournament training camp on May 21 before friendlies with Norway and Belgium.
