End of the road? Ryan admits he could leave Wexford

The manager admits he doesn’t know if he is “the right man for the job”.

WEXFORD MANAGER JASON Ryan has expressed doubt over his future after his side’s controversial loss at the weekend in their All-Ireland qualifier against Limerick.

Ian Ryan’s late free was strongly disputed by Wexford and the decision ultimately proved decisive, as they lost the game by a single point.

Yet despite the nature of their loss, the Wexford manger was gracious in defeat, telling RTÉ Sport at 7:

“There was a lot of controversy over a number of incidents over the course of the game, but the reality was that we didn’t play well enough to get more scores than Limerick.”

He added that he was still coming to terms with the fact that his side were out of the Championship and said he didn’t know whether or not he would continue as manager, adding:

“I’m not even aware whether the county board would be looking for me to be involved again next year. I don’t know whether I’m the right man for the job and the big thing is I don’t know if I’ll be able to commit my – even if I was wanted for the year.”

Wexford have had a mixed season, reaching the Leinster final of the Championship only to lose out to Dublin, before their premature All-Ireland exit last Saturday.

Should Ryan stay on as Wexford manager?
