THE SQUADS FOR two upcoming tournaments have been announced by the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) today.
The Elite Tammer Multi-Nations begins in Finland tomorrow, with coaches Billy Walsh and Zaur Antia leading an eight-man team which includes Olympic silver medallist Ken Egan and European silver medallists John Joe Joyce and Ross Hickey.
In November, meanwhile, the AIBA World Youth Championships, a competition which Ireland has been extremely successful in in recent years, takes place in the Armenian capital Yerevan. Five boxers have been chosen to travel while George Boylan and JJ McDonagh are set to fight in a box-off at the National Stadium on Friday, October 26, for the final spot.
