Dunne and Kinsella to take charge at Colchester

The duo have been appointed as manager and assistant manager respectively at the club.

AN IRISH MANAGEMENT team of Joe Dunne and Mark Kinsella have taken charge at Colchester United, following the departure of previous boss John Ward.

Dunne and ex-Ireland international Kinsella take over as manager and assistant manager respectively, in the aftermath of the side’s recent loss to Scunthorpe.

And speaking following the appointment, chairman of the club Robbie Cowling issued the following statement.

“Joe has been with Colchester United for sixteen years as a player, youth team manager, reserve manager, assistant manager, caretaker manager and now he is first team manager.

“Joe takes charge of Colchester United when the club’s long-term prospects are the best they have ever been but at a time when the short-term future is one of its most challenging.

“Therefore, I ask each and every one of you to get behind Joe and the team and to give them your full support.”
