BERNARD BROGAN, PAT Gilroy and Kevin McMenamon are among the members of the Dublin team set to be honoured in New York today.
The event, which was arranged by the Dublin Gaelic Football Club New York, has been organised in recognition of their All-Ireland-winning triumph last September.
They will be guests of honour during an evening that will feature a performance from balladeers, the Dublin City Ramblers, according to IrishCentral.com.
The event is a considerable coup for the GAA, as it is likely to garner a significant degree of publicity for the organisation, which has been criticised on occasion for failing to adequately tap in to its potential overseas market.
Dublin’s recent exploits, however, have facilitated an increase in the game’s profile, both at home and abroad, with stars such as Stephen Cluxton and Bernard Brogan receiving greater recognition as a result of their performances.
