FANS WHO MISS out in the scramble for All-Ireland football final tickets can watch Sunday’s match on a big screen in Dublin city centre.
The clash between Dublin and Mayo will be shown at a free event in Smithfield Plaza, Dublin City Council have announced.
The “family-friendly and alcohol-free” event will allow fans to enjoy pre-match entertainment from 1.15pm before throw-in at 3.30pm.
“People can experience a genuine big-match atmosphere in the best place outside of Croke Park to enjoy what should be a fantastic occasion,” Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisin Quinn said.
Sunday’s final is a complete sell-out with tickets appearing online for upwards of €750 a pair in recent days.
The GAA has again warned fans not to buy from unauthorised sources or ‘touts’ as these tickets may be cancelled come matchday.
