FANS WHO MISS out in the scramble for All-Ireland football final tickets can watch Sunday’s match on a big screen in Dublin city centre.
The clash between Dublin and Mayo will be shown at a free event in Smithfield Plaza, Dublin City Council have announced.
The “family-friendly and alcohol-free” event will allow fans to enjoy pre-match entertainment from 1.15pm before throw-in at 3.30pm.
“People can experience a genuine big-match atmosphere in the best place outside of Croke Park to enjoy what should be a fantastic occasion,” Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisin Quinn said.
Sunday’s final is a complete sell-out with tickets appearing online for upwards of €750 a pair in recent days.
The GAA has again warned fans not to buy from unauthorised sources or ‘touts’ as these tickets may be cancelled come matchday.
Tickets posted on eBay or the likes that clearly show the seat should be cancelled by the GAA and reissued to genuine fans
They are
Rearrange the words “alcohol free” and I’m there…
“The GAA has again warned fans not to buy from unauthorised sources or ‘touts’ as these tickets may be cancelled come matchday ”
Can the GAA explain how touts get there hands on so many tickets?
Anybody who has ever gone to Dublin on all Ireland final day looking for tickets will remenber seeing lads with bundles of tickets for sale.
All the residents in and around Croke Park get tickets to each game.
I’d guess the touts source their supply from them.
Not any more , they apply like all other season ticket holders
Up the Dubs.
Cash Stevens, residents do not get free tickets. You can sign up to the database in Croke Park and if you win a draw then you can buy 2 tickets at face value
Will the big screen be nailed down? It will be on Ebay before the 1st point is scored.
A lot of the comments here seem to be from people who were brought up emptying their chamber pots behind the hedge at the back of a mud walled cottage. Scared of their own shadow because their Granny told them “them fellah’s in Dublin would steal the S haitch one T from your Arse”
Pathetic
@ Cash Stevens – I wish they did, but free tickets for residents of the area is an urban myth! There is a draw we can enter, but I don’t know of any of my neighbours who have ever won :(
If they stopped women from going to matches , it would free up approx 25000 tickets for genuine supporters
Ha ha class
Will the organisers be issuing stab-vests or do you bring your own?
(Lets be honest here…. who doesnt think this type of event will be carnage?)
Says it’s alcohol free so any drunken skangers will seek carnage elsewhere
Hopefully…… wouldn’t bank on it though.
100 euro says that both sets of fans will enjoy the game without causing any problems.
Stop trying to put the Irish down, my foreign amigo.
Ha alcohol free and dub supporters don’t go.
Prat….!!!
Plenty of carnage out of country hoors in the likes of Quinn’s and the big tree too.
Yeah but us culties show the dubs how to drink
And we’ll show you how to spell.
Kind of stating the obvious under the picture that ‘Hill 16 will be packed on Sunday’..don’t you think!!!!
Which will be lifted 1st, Sam Maguire or the bug scree.? Answers on a post card please.
id say the ‘Bug Scree’!!?
C O Y B I B
Alcohol free in Smithfield, that would be a change, there’s lads drinking cans in square morning night and day everyday.
Have shops added not to sell any alcohol on day our how it’s this supposed to happen?
I wish I could watch it online.

Somehow I think this event will be making next Mondays headlines for all the wrong reasons. Lets hope it rains all day Sunday.
Actually Sunday’s weather is looking very good with temperatures up to 23 degrees according to accuweather.
What a bitter husk of a human
And lets hope you swallow a bitter lemon and ….
