THROW IN: We’re underway here in Croker with Laois attacking into the Hill in the first half.

Billy Sheehan kicks a poor wide with Laois’s first possession.

Dublin 0-1 Laois 0-1: 2 mins – Daly bursts forward from wing-back and finds Alan Brogan who gets Dublin up and running with the first point of Championship 2014.

Ross Munnelly levels for Laois.

Laois 0-3 Dublin 0-1: 4 mins – Brilliant start by Laois as Munnelly points his second, and then Darren Strong tacks on another.

Laois 0-4 Dublin 0-2 — 6 mins: Good leap by Graham Brody to deny Bernard Brogan at the back post. Cluxton trots up and points the 45.

But Laois hit back immediately at the other end, David Conway showing well in support and taking his score.

8 mins — Two bad wides in quick succession for Laois, Conway the culprit with the second of them.

Tommy Grealy / INPHO Tommy Grealy / INPHO / INPHO

11 mins — Footballer of the Year Michael Darragh MacAuley bursts through from midfield and has a great chance to score but his shot is straight at Brody who deflects it behind for a 45.

Cluxton, uncharacteristically, misses it.

13 mins – Superb intervention by Jonny Cooper to deny what would have been a sure Laois goal. Munnelly peeled away to the back post and as Kingston tried to play it across to him, Cooper got his hand in to bat it away.

Laois 0-5 Dublin 0-3: 13 mins – Flynn points for the Dubs but Laois hit back immediately through Munnelly again.

Laois 0-6 Dublin 0-4: 16 mins – OFF THE BAR! Superb fielding by Eoghan O’Gara who takes the ball down with one hand and lays it off to Paddy Andrews. He tries to pick his spot in the top corner but it comes back off the underside of the bar.

The Dubs get their score anyway as olay is brought back for a free, which Brogan points.

Darren Strong kicks his second of the day after losing his man in the shadow of the Cusack stand.

Laois 0-7 Dublin 0-5: 18 mins – OFF THE POST! Dublin hit the woodwork again! This time it’s Diarmuid Connolly who rasps a shot off the post.

Cian O’Sullivan comes through from midfield to cut Laois’s lead to one, but James Finn is on hand to restore it almost instantly.

Laois 0-7 Dublin 0-6: 21 mins — A lot of the Dublin attacks are coming down the right side through Paddy Andrews and he fists a point over the bar.

Anxious moments for the Dubs as Bernard Brogan goes down holding his hamstring…

I didn’t see what happened there when Brogan pulled up but after a quick bit of treatment, he looks ok to jog it off.

Laois 0-8 Dublin 0-6: 23 mins — Fine score from Donie Kingston who splits the post from 40 yards.

SUBSTITUTION: Jim Gavin doesn’t want to risk Bernard Brogan. He jogs off and is replaced by Kevin McManamon… not a bad option to have on your bench, I suppose.

26 mins — Cluxton snatches Ross Munnelly’s effort as it drops under the bar. Dublin must be a bit concerned about the ease with which Laois are creating chances, though.

28 mins — Lightning attack by Dublin as Philly McMahon bursts forward from corner-back and links up with Eoghan O’Gara to create the space for Paddy Andrews. Great block by Conor Meredith to deny him the space to shoot.

Laois 0-8 Dublin 0-7: 29 mins — McManamon sizes up a shot but with no opening, he ships it off to Flynn who points.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Another change for the Dubs. Darren Daly has injured himself in a tackle and he’s replaced by Jack McCaffrey. Again, not a bad man to have on your bench!

Billy Sheehan goes off for Laois; he’s replaced by Niall Donoher.

Laois 0-8 Dublin 0-8: 33 mins — Eoghan O’Gara levels it up. It’s nearly 10 minutes now since Laois’s last score.

Laois 0-9 Dublin 0-8: 34 mins — A Laois free drops short, Dublin can’t clear their lines, Kingston forages and lays it back to Munnelly who points.

Laois 0-10 Dublin 0-8: 35 mins — Kingston points a free and it looks like Laois will go in ahead at the break.

37 mins — DOUBLE SAVE! Graham Brody very nearly gifts Dublin a simple goal on the stroke of half-time… and then redeems himself with a brilliant double-save. After dropping Andrews’ shot, he was back up to deny Alan Brogan and then Eoghan O’Gara in quick succession.

Cluxton misses the 45 again, and that’s half-time.

HALF TIME: Laois 0-10 Dublin 0-8

SECOND HALF: We’re back underway in Croke Park. How will the Dubs respond to this game Laois challenge?

Laois 0-10 Dublin 0-10: 39 mins – McManamon gets the Dubs up and running… and then immediately points another after selling Padraig McMahon with a lovely dummy. All square.

Dublin 0-11 Laois 0-10: 41 mins — And now Dublin lead for the first time since the first minute of the game. Paul Flynn strolls through midfield and booms over a point.

Dublin 0-12 Laois 0-10: 43 mins – Great diving block by Colm Begley to deny Jack McCaffrey. Cluxton makes sure of this 45; that’s two out of four for him now.

Dublin 0-13 Laois 0-11: 46 mins — Niall Donoher gets his first score of the afternoon for Laois but James McCarthy isn’t long hitting for the Dubs.

Dublin 1-13 Laois 0-11: 47 mins — GOAL FOR DUBLIN! All of a sudden, the Dubs have opened up a five-point lead and it’s Diarmuid Connolly with the goal. Paddy Andrews fields the ball and lays it off, and although Connolly initially loses his footing, he has time to compose himself and slot it past Brody.

Dublin 1-13 Laois 0-12: 50 mins — Ross Munnelly points a free for Laois to cut the gap to four.

There’s a bit of a tangle between MacAuley and Finn on the Cusack Stand side. The Laois man stays down holding his face but it’s a free-in and nothing more.

SUBSTITUTIONS: We’ve had a few changes in the last couple of minutes. Cullen and Costello are on for Dublin, with O’Gara and Alan Brogan going off.

For Laois, Eoin Lowry is on to replace Kevin Meaney.

Dublin 1-13 Laois 0-13: 53 mins – John O’Loughlin is set free by a quickly taken free and he takes his point without any difficulty. Dublin aren’t out of sight yet.

Dublin 2-13 Laois 0-13: 55 mins — GOAL FOR DUBLIN! Disaster for Laois, delight for Dublin. Paul Begley dives to catch a ball that otherwise would have went harmlessly out of the endline but fumbles it and it stays in play.

McManamon gets a toe in to nick it away from Brody and once he’s squared it to MacAuley, the reigning Footballer of the Year was never going to miss.

Dublin 2-14 Laois 0-14: 58 mins – Jonny Cooper is shown a yellow card for a late and high tackle. Munnelly points the free.

But Bryan Cullen pops one over at the other end and Dublin’s six-point lead is restored.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Rock comes on to replace O’Sullivan for Dublin; Robbie Kehoe for Stephen Attride for Laois.

Dublin 2-15 Laois 0-16: 62 mins – Munnelly sends over a super score after Kingston (free) and Connolly had traded points.

Padraig McMahon and Paddy Andrews are both booked for a little sideline skirmish.

Dublin 2-16 Laois 0-16: 66 mins – Dean Rock curls a fine free into Hill 16. Dublin are six up with a couple of minutes to play and surely, for all of Laois’s efforts, this one is done and dusted.

Dublin 2-17 Laois 0-16: 67 mins – Rock taps over another free.

Dublin 2-18 Laois 0-16: 69 mins – And another free for Rock after Colm Begley is penalised and booked

Dublin 2-19 Laois 0-16: 70 mins – Laois are out on their feet and Cormac Costello has the freedom of Croke Park as he strolls up the middle to score.

Dublin 2-21 Laois 0-16: 70+1 mins – Cormac Costello reels off another two points and that’s full-time.

FULL TIME: Dublin 2-21 Laois 0-16

That’s it for now. Check back later for more reaction on all of today’s action.
