Poll: 1977 or 2013 - which was the best Dublin-Kerry game?

Have your say on two classics between the Dubs and the Kingdom.

DUBLIN HEAD TOWARDS Sunday’s All-Ireland final on the back of victory in their recent epic All-Ireland semi-final tie against Kerry.

Last month’s clash in Croke Park was a classic which Dublin edged by 3-18 to 3-11 against the Kingdom.

Naturally it lead to a post-match debate as to where the game ranks in the Gaelic football pantheon.

Parallels were drawn with another classic Dublin-Kerry All-Ireland semi-final that took place 36 years ago. That 1977 tie was also won by Dublin by 3-12 to 1-13.

Legendary Dublin midfielder Brian Mullins was an observer for the recent game and a protagonist in the 1977 battle.

“They’re all saying it was even better than the ’77 game but I’d never concede that”, laughs Mullins. “It was a great game of football and a great sporting occasion.

“For me, just being there and witnessing it is great. But having played in it and contributed to it, I’d never admit that anything could come near it, you know!

“It’s just a jokey thing. It’s fantasy world trying to compare eras.”

But we want to know what you think was the better game?
