What a great buzz. Winning the all-Ireland has really lifted spirits in Dublin.
The super Dubs, league winners & all Ireland champions, thanks for a brilliant year lads.
Congrats to the Dublin players, better team on the day in fairness.
As for their fans, the lack of media coverage regarding the throwing of bags of urine at mayo fans on the hill yesterday is damning of the pale establishment refusing to condemn their own…
There’s no coverage because that didn’t happen, Sean. You’re just continuing on from last night when you embarrassed yourself by lying. You’re trying to add credibility to your spoof by saying ‘well done’ to the Dublin team. You didn’t do that last night. Carry on.
Absolute lies. Pathetic
@sean consider yourself PWNED
Sean I was on the Hill yesterday – great atmosphere with both fans, your comments are untrue… Keep you disgusting fantasy to yourself
P!ss off back to your troll hole, collins, and swill around in that bile you cherish so much.
sure them dub fans would miss anyway!
In fairness Maeve my mate is a guard and said he hated working at Croker when Dublin were playing because on a few occasions they had urine thrown at them, there is always a small element of sc.um in a large crowd…………
Is this a Piss Take ? :)
I have been attending games in the Hill for nearly 40 years. As God is my witness I have never, ever seen anything to do with urine-throwing. I have heard hilarious comments, disgraceful comments, I even saw a scuffle once (between two Dublin supporters). I travelled down the country in the ‘bad old days’ when a tiny minority of so-called Dublin supporters caused trouble. I have many friends in the Gardai and even dated a Garda for over a year. Not once did either of us ever witness anything to do with urine-throwing at any match attended by Dublin supporters anywhere in this country, never mind the Hill. The Dublin and Mayo supporters in the Hill yesterday had great craic. There was a mutual respect and the banter was hilarious at times. Enda got an awful slagging but so did Bertie.
Mayo supporters who were on the Hill yesterday have already commented on another thread on the Journal as to the craic they had.
Haha this is possibly the most pathetic comment I’ve read yet. If anything even close to this had happened you can be sure the victims would have gone straight to the papers. Stop embarrassing yourself and be gracious in defeat.
That’s why I prefer playing the traditional teams like Kerry cork Meath Galway you don’t get this childish begrudgeary from counties that have been there and can win finals. It’s pathetic
Brilliant atmosphere in the city! Kept the children up late and brought them in to see the team…. Well worth it!
Well done Dublin, as a Monaghan man I was in Croke park for our quarter final against Tyrone. Dublin v Cork was the next game and I was truly impressed with the style, speed and skill of the Dublin team. I was surrounded by Dublin supporters and they made the occasion even more enjoyable with witty comments and general good craic. A very deserved victory for the Dubs.
Fair play Paddy! And well done to Monaghan on a great year. They’ll be back fighting in 2014 no doubt.
COYBIB
Pic 10 best seat in the house
I’m a tipp fan and love homecomings! I don’t think we”ll see another one for a long time
Tipp’ll be back, macca.
Maeve
At some stage
Why do they keep call it a “homecoming” ? !!
Well done lads on a well deserved win.
At least they were pissing into bags and not into people’s pockets
i was amazed to hear on the 9 o’clock news ” that the celebrations passed without incident” what other county in Ireland would you hear that on the news! a home coming passed without incident?
Epic fail there David.
35000 fans out of a population if more than a million????!!!!
Hardly a dedicated fan base is it?
Well done Dublin now lets get back to the real football. The Manchester derby was good wasn’t it?
I was thinking the same, 35000 does seem to be a very small turnout for a county with the population of Dublin?? We nearly got the same turnout in Kilkenny in recent years after bringing home Liam.
Maybe now Dublin will play an away match out of Dublin?
They had the toughest run in to be fair and deserved it.
Now maybe go the extra mile ……or Kilometer?
The Leinster Council decide where matches are played. Maybe write them a strongly-worded letter, or wave at passing cars, whatever makes you happy.
We do play away games. Whoever we were home to this year we’re away to next year just like everyone else.
Home coming? Victory parade is more apt, surely?
