DUBLIN FACES THE prospect of not entering a team in this year’s Leinster Club Football Championship if they defeat Donegal in their All-Ireland semi-final on Sunday week.
The Star reports that the Leinster Council has turned down a request for the first-round provincial fixture, involving the Dublin champions, to be deferred for a week or two.
It had been scheduled for 23 October, which would leave only four free weekends between it and a potential All-Ireland final appearance, against either Mayo or Kerry, for the Dubs.
Dublin board chairman Andy Kettle told the newspaper: “We asked for a bit of leeway but unfortunately the Leinster Council said that they were not in a position to accommodate us in any way.”
