ARSENAL HAVE POSTPONED their Premier League game with West Ham United St Stephen’s Day due to planned industrial action affecting London’s Underground transport network, the club announced today.
Arsenal said the disruption meant that supporter safety at their Emirates Stadium could not be guaranteed for the traditional Boxing Day fixture.
The match will instead be played on either 23 January or 26 January, depending on how the two clubs fare in their respective FA Cup third-round matches on the weekend of 5-6 January.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused supporters but we feel that the right decision has been made,” said Arsenal in a statement. ”Tickets already purchased for this match are still valid for the rearranged date, which is yet to be confirmed.”
