The province confirmed last night that the New Zealander will have a scan and see a specialist early this week โto determine the exact nature of the injury he sustainedโ against Ospreys on Saturday.
Initial examinations suggest heโs damaged his achilles tendon. Thomond Park officials have decided that Howlett is out of the Pool 1 games however.
The former All Black star scored a try against Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday but the visitors ultimately lost out, on a scoreline of 19-13.
