BORUSSIA DORTMUND HAVE confirmed that Mario Goetze will not feature in Saturdayโs Champions League final against Bayern Munich at Wembley.
The 20-year-old has lost his battle for fitness ahead of what would have been his last game for the club before a multi-million pound switch to Bundesliga rivals Bayern.
โThe final was my big goal and in the past weeks I have battled hard for it,โ Goetze said in a statement on Dortmundโs website. โI am unbelievably sorry that I will not be able to help the team in this important match. I have huge belief in our team and will naturally travel with them to London to endeavour to support the lads off the pitch.โ

That photo is great
@Joe OโDoherty: love your profile pic
We know which one is Hallgrimsson, no need to draw a big red circle around his face.
Talk is over. Do it on the pitch!
@Simon Dwyer: Youโve got to admire them though. Havenโt produced a decent performance in forever and still feeling positive!
I miss the 90s and early 2000โฒs back then i was so excited about games now its a struggle to look forward to games
Ah I know things are not great at the moment but Iโm sure our players donโt go out to lose and best of luck to Nathan and the.rest of the lads
I fear if we donโt get a point in this group of games we wonโt in the rest
@Leighton Cullen: Have to agree with you there. I know itโs arguably the worst metric to gauge it on but if Finland lost 3-0 to Greece and we lost 2-0โฆ surely this is our best chance of scoring a goal let alone bagging a point or three!? Helsinki not the easiest place to go granted, but itโs now or never in this relegation battle.
Shows how far weโve slipped down the ladder when Finland have struggled to barely sell 15k tickets for tonight, but the England game sold out in minutes. Hard to disagree with the Finnish public.
Another lost
@Alan Moloney: Most likely
