Revenge on the cards as Donegal set up another Ulster showdown with Cavan

Donegal ran out five-point winners in Kingspan Breffni Park tonight.

Donegal 0-15
Armagh 0-10

DONEGAL BOOKED THEIR place in the Ulster U21 football final with a five-point win over Armagh this evening.

Maxi Curran’s side will be hoping for revenge when they come up against champions Cavan again next Wednesday, 9 April.

The Breffni, who are chasing a remarkable provincial four-in-a-row, beat Monaghan to set up a repeat of last year’s decider.

Armagh were reduced to 14 men when Aaron Findon was sent off for a second yellow in the final moments but by that stage, Donegal’s victory was already secure.

Led from the front by senior star Paddy McBrearty they were three points up at the break, 0-7 to 0-4.

Willie Gillespie should have stretched Donegal’s lead after the restart but he spurned his chance.

That left the door open for Armagh and they trailed by two, 0-11 to 0-9, as the game entered the last 10 minutes.

But Donegal pulled away to give themselves a shot at a first provincial crown since 2010.
