Donal Óg and Loughnane reckon GAA dual stars can't maximise their hurling potential

The Sunday Game pundits debated the future of the dual star last weekend.

THE SUNDAY GAME hurling pundits started an interesting debate last weekend as the issue of dual players again cropped up.

The Dublin hurlers heavy All-Ireland quarter-final defeat prompted Donal Óg Cusack and Ger Loughnane to chat about how the capital side are suffering from young hurlers nailing their colours to the football mast.

Doanl Óg suggested that minor players should be asked which sport they want to play and Loughnane remarked about how he believes Podge Collins suffered this year in serving two masters for Clare.

Are they right in stating that dual players will struggle to reach their potential as hurlers?

Should youngsters be forced to decide what sport they commit to at inter-county level?

Are the days of the dual player numbered?

Let us know what you think.
