A NEW DOCUMENTARY on gay rights in Ireland and abroad will air next week, presented by Cork’s All-Ireland winning goalkeeper and leading GAA analyst Donal Óg Cusack.
‘Coming Out Of The Curve’ will be shown on RTÉ One next Monday evening, 19 January, at 9.35pm.
“Dónal Óg Cusack takes stock of gay rights, both at home and abroad, and asks how far we have travelled, from the days when being gay was effectively against the law in Ireland,” RTÉ said as they posted the first clip online on Monday.
“He talks to other sports people about coming out and interviews an ‘ex-gay’ man who claims he has been cured of his homosexuality.”
A three-time All-Ireland hurling champion, Cusack became the first elite Irish sportsperson to publicly come out as gay in 2009. He is the current chairman of the Gaelic Players Association.
