Costa's World Cup in doubt as he limps off NINE minutes into Champions League final

The Atletico Madrid striker was substituted early in this evening’s big European tie.

ATLETICO MADRID’S TOP scorer Diego Costa had to be replaced by Adrian Lopez just nine minutes into his side’s Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday due to an ongoing hamstring injury.

Costa had also been forced off early on as Atletico sealed the La Liga title away to Barcelona last weekend.

However, he had been surprisingly been passed fit to start the final after reportedly undergoing a special horse placenta treatment in Serbia earlier in the week.

Costa’s participation in the World Cup may also now be in doubt with Spain boss Vicente del Bosque set to name his final squad of 23 for the tournament in Brazil on Sunday.

Atleti lead 1-0 at half-time.
