Computer says yes: Declan Kidney reckons Pumas will check out new guy Gilroy online

There won’t be any surprises for Argentina this weekend.

IT MAY BE his first full international cap, but Argentina will know what to expect from Craig Gilroy this weekend, according to Declan Kidney.

The Ulster wing was named in the starting XV by the Ireland head coach today at a team announcement in the team’s Carton House base.

Gilroy featured in the non-cap rout of Fiji in Limerick last Saturday, running in three tries at Thomond Park.

And Kidney insists his opposite number will make sure the Pumas have digested Gilroy’s performance in that game and others before kick-off at lunchtime on Saturday.

“I think with analysis now and the different software packages that are out there, I’m sure Argentina will just download a few things and pick up a few of the games Craig has been involved in and do whatever they do for all teams,” he told reporters at the Co Kildare venue earlier.

“You know for matches like this, space will be at an optimum, the higher you go the amount of space you have and the time you have just cuts down.  [Gilroy's] managed things that have come his way so far and the way he’s carried himself off the pitch as well as on it has impressed me,” he added.

Ireland need to win to guarantee their top-eight seeding.
