Relief for David Meyler as he escapes FA Cup final ban for 'stamp' on Januzaj

The midfielder is now available for the May 17th clash with Arsenal.

DAVID MEYLER WILL be free to play in the FA Cup final for Hull City after an alleged stamp last night on Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj.

The Football Association has decided not to take retrospective action against the Irish midfielder following the incident towards the end of last night’s 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

The Hull Daily Mail reports that referee Craig Pawson has told FA officials that he was looking directly at the incident.

Under the rules in relation to cases that are examined retrospectively, as the referee had a clear, unobstructed view it is not classed as the incident having not been seen by match officials.

The news will be a relief to Meyler who is now available for Steve Bruce’s side for their big date at Wembley on May 17th against Arsenal.
