REAL MADRID HAVE lodged an official complaint with UEFA after some of their star players had shirts and boots taken from their dressing room ahead of last night’s Champions League semi-final in the Allianz Arena.
The fleet-footed thieves made away with three pairs of Cristiano Ronaldo’s boots while Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil were also victims.
Ozil, whose equaliser had cancelled out Frank Ribery’s opener, could only watch on as Mario Gomez’s late strike handed Bayern Munich the advantage ahead of next week’s return fixture in the Bernabeu.
“The stealing of Cristiano’s shoes is a shame, it’s impossible something like that could happen at the Bernabeu,” said a bemused Jose Mourinho in his post-match press conference.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Bayern have failed to offer any explanation for the theft.
