D'Arcy and Sexton to undergo tests, Leamy to miss 6N campaign

There was good and bad news for Ireland on the injury front on Sunday, with the Leinster duo set to feature next weekend.

BOTH GORDON D’ARCY and Jonathan Sexton are expected to be fit for Leinster’s Heineken Cup clash against the Glasgow Warriors, despite coming off in the 23-19 win over Cardiff Blues in the RaboDirect Pro12 series on Saturday night.

D’Arcy had to be replaced by Isa Nacewa before the break after taking a blow to the ribs.

Sexton, on the other hand, lasted an hour before Fionn Carr had to be drafted in.

It was initially felt that the fly-half had a tight hamstring but the problem was later diagnosed as cramp. Both players will be subject to medical tests on Sunday but it is thought that neither problem is serious.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Munster back row forward Denis Leamy will miss the Six Nations with the hip injury that has troubled him over recent months.

The Ireland star is not expected to feature for four months at least, meaning he faces a race against time to play any part in Munster’s Heineken Cup and Pro12 campaigns.
