Another injury blow for Ulster as Tuohy set to miss up to 12 weeks

The second row suffered an arm injury during Ulster’s win in Cardiff last night

ULSTER MAY HAVE started the Guinness Pro12 season unbeaten but their committed performances have taken a physical toll, with Dan Tuohy the latest to pick up a long-term injury.

The second row injured his arm during last night’s 26-9 win away to Cardiff and after a scan it was determined that Tuohy had suffered a fracture that will require surgery.

Ulster estimate that he could be out for up to 12 weeks and his absence comes at a particularly inopportune time as the second row had already scored tries in all three of Ulster’s league games so far.

Tuohy will join Ruan Pienaar on the sidelines, with the scrum-half set to miss six weeks through a knee injury sustained in the Rugby Championship.

Calm belief pays dividends for Pat Lam’s Connacht against Leinster
