Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 2-1 in today’s only Premier League match.

ASTON VILLA lost 2-1 to Liverpool, after a Jordan Henderson strike cancelled out Christian Benteke’s opener, before Steven Gerrard’s penalty gave his side the lead.

After Benteke thumped the ball in to give Villa a first-half lead, Brendan Rodgers’ side responded in impressive fashion early in the second half.

Jordan Henderson finished well after being set up courtesy of a sublime through pass by the young Brazilian star, Philippe Coutinho.

And when Nathan Baker fouled Luis Suarez, Gerrard took full advantage from the ensuing spot kick.
