MUNSTER CAME UP just short in their enthralling Heineken Cup semi-final against Toulon today, but it wasn’t for the lack of effort.
At 21 – 16, with Keith Earls in the sin-bin, Jonny Wilkinson dropped into the pocket and lined up what looked to be a straightforward drop-goal.
What Wilkinson didn’t account for was a flying number eight, propelling himself off the ground and through the air in time to block the ball down.
Sadly, James Coughlan’s act of awesome athleticism did not pay dividends and the 2003 World Cup winner would be given another chance to open up an eight-point gap for his side five minutes later.
